Jeff Farnath has held leadership finance positions in the media industry over the past 20 years and has worked with both large multinational companies as well as small entrepreneurial start-ups. His expertise includes film and television production, licensing, international distribution and digital media.
Jeff worked at Walt Disney Studios for 10 years and was Chief Financial Officer for Walt Disney Studios- Latin America and then became CFO for Disney Feature Animation and Theatrical Productions. After Disney, Jeff was CFO and then CEO of Laika Entertainment (formerly Vinton Studios) which produced the Oscar-nominated films “Corpse Bride” and “Coroline”. In 2009, Jeff became CFO for private equity backed Classic Media, which was successfully sold to DreamWorks Animation in 2012. Most recently, Jeff was CFO for venture capital backed Thrillist Media Group, the leading digital lifestyle brand for male millennials and owner of online retailer JackThreads. While at Thrillist, Jeff helped the company expand its audience market share, launch new content verticals and successfully transition its men’s e-commerce business into a profitable private label apparel brand. Jeff completed a large equity sale of TMG in 2015, led by the German media giant Axel Springer.
Jeff currently lives in London, England with his partner and has an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Mechanical Engineering degree from Bucknell University. Jeff is a member of the American Film Institute, The Human Rights Campaign and the founder and co-owner of Silvina Vineyards in Mendoza, Argentina.
