Silvergate Media and Fisher-Price Ink Global Master Toy Renewal Deal for Octonauts

Oct 14, 2013

London, 14 October 2013. UK independent entertainment company Silvergate Media has signed a renewal deal with Fisher-Price, Inc., the leading manufacturer of infant and preschool toys and a subsidiary of Mattel, Inc., to continue as Master Toy partner for its undersea preschool adventure property, Octonauts.

During the hugely successful first term, the toys have appeared on shelves across a host of key territories including the UK, France, Germany and Australia. Most recently the US joined the list of territories snapping up Octonauts toys, with the exclusive March launch at Toys“R”Us® receiving great consumer response.

Silvergate Media’s animated series Octonauts (92 x 11’ and 6 x 22’ specials) has been equally well received globally, sold in over 100 territories and broadcasting on CBeebies in the UK, the Disney Junior block on Disney Channel in the US, ABC Australia and SuperRTL’s Toggolino in Germany – strong partnerships which have served to bolster the momentum of the property’s success.

Mary Durkan, CEO at Silvergate Media said: “The fast-paced, adventure-filled and educationally-rich world of the Octonauts has been hugely popular with both audiences and licensees, and we are delighted to be continuing our thriving partnership with Fisher-Price. The extension of the Master Toy deal will build on the fantastic broadcast platform and support we have with our international broadcast partners and will bring Octonauts toys and adventures into the homes of millions more children.”

Based on the richly imaginative books by award-winning design team, Meomi, Octonauts combines elements of classic team action-adventure with dazzling CGI animation to transport preschoolers into a world they can’t ordinarily visit…the ocean. The show will arouse the curiosity and feed the imagination of preschoolers, answering questions in a journey of discovery through the world’s oceans.

Silvergate Media holds all audio visual and worldwide licensing and merchandising rights to Octonauts.
