BBC ON BOARD FOR FOURTH SERIES OF OCTONAUTS

New episodes set to deliver from 2015

London, 29th January 2014 – Silvergate Media has announced that the BBC has acquired a fourth season of its hugely popular pre-school show, Octonauts. The new series will consist of 24 x 11 minute episodes and 2 x 22 minute specials.
The BBC was the first ever broadcaster to air Octonauts, launching the first series on CBeebies in October 2010. The show has broadcast continuously on the channel since then, frequently topping the CBeebies TV ratings and iPlayer chart and constantly proves as popular with parents and caregivers as its younger, core audience due to the high-octane adventures, educational themes and humour.

When a new series was discussed our reaction was immediate – as Captain Barnacles would say ‘Let’s do this thing!’Octonauts was one of four brands chosen by CBeebies to feature on the channel’s first ever mobile app, CBeebies Playtime. Playtime launched in August 2013 and was downloaded over a million times during the first six weeks of release.
